Sarah von Bamberger - Artist
Sarah has been an artist all her life. She grew up in Western Australia, where she studied for her Bachelor of Art at Edith Cowan University. She now spends her time divided between her studios in Western Australia with her sister on her rural property in the Perth hills, and in the beautiful Huon valley in Tasmania surrounded by her dogs, cats, fish, house birds, roosters, geese and native wildlife..
Sarah has a boundless love of animals and nature and is greatly concerned for the environment, in particular the harm being done to the world’s waterways, rivers and oceans. This is expressed throughout much of her artwork.
Sarah works primarily in water colours. Her favourite subjects are fish and reptiles. In addition to highly realistic depictions of plants and animals, she also creates surreal futurist scenes where biomechanical fish have come to replace the living, in polluted rivers, lakes and oceans.
Most of her pieces are extremely intricate and highly detailed and her large array of work is full of surprises and hidden secrets.
